Established Organizational Structure on 1st General Assembly

On April 7th, 2022, RIS Tech Alliance (RISTA) inauguration ceremony and the 1st General Assembly of the RISTA were successfully held in Beijing. Representatives of 87 RISTA members, including colleges and universities, enterprises, scientific research institutes, think tanks, and industry organizations, attended the meeting in person or through video conferencing.

The RISTA is a cross-industry, open, and non-profit social organization that is formed by enterprises, public institutions, associations, colleges and universities, and scientific research institutes related to RIS on the basis of voluntariness, equality, and mutual benefits.

It consists of a Council, a General Council, an Expert Committee, a Secretariat, and five Working Groups, with the RIS Technology Forum convened annually to promote the development of the Alliance.

With the aim to build an RIS ecosystem together with all relevant entities, the Alliance is committed to promoting the research, standardization, and industrialization of RIS-related technologies.

In the meeting, the appointment of important positions of the RISTA, including the President and Vice Presidents of the Council, Standing Council Members, Special Expert, and Chief Experts of the Expert Committee, was approved. Cui Tiejun, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), assumes the position of President of the Council. The Standing Council Members of the RISTA include Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Southeast University, Tsinghua University, China Telecom, China Institute of Electronics on Communication Society, China Unicom, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), China Mobile, and ZTE. Yang Zemin is appointed as Special Expert, and Chief Experts of the Expert Committee are Cui Tiejun (a member of the CAS), Wu Jiangxing, Liu Yunjie, Zhang Ping (three members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering), Luo Zhiquan (a member of the Academy of Science of the Royal Society of Canada), and Zhang Rui (a member of the Academy of Engineering, Singapore). Besides, all the members reviewed and approved the Alliance’s Charter, establishment of Working Groups, membership application procedure, and work plans of the year 2022 in the meeting.
