Technology Innovation Institute
The Technology Innovation Institute (TII) is a leading global research center dedicated to pushing the frontiers of knowledge. Our teams of scientists, researchers, and engineers work in an open, flexible, and agile environment to deliver science discovery and transformative technologies. Our work focuses on breakthroughs that will future-proof our society. Working together, we are committed to inspiring innovation for a better tomorrow.
TII includes one AI-cross center and ten cutting-edge research centers. Among them, Digital Science Research Center (DSRC), composed of Telecomm Unit and Security Unit, carries out research on 6G wireless communications and advanced digital security.
RIS Research at TII
The Digital Science Research Center (DSRC) under TII focuses on cutting edge research on different disciplines, mostly related to the next-generation wireless communication techniques, e.g., reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs), holographic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), AI for wireless, wireless for AI, THz communications, etc. The current research interests related to RIS mainly span the fundamental limits and added values/benefits to the existing and future networks (sub-6G, mmWave, and THz) by the introduction of RISs. To be specific, they include, but are not limited to:
·MIMO algorithms and beamforming design;
·RIS channel modeling;
·RIS channel estimation;
·Enhanced indoor and outdoor 3D localization and wireless sensing;
·RIS-assisted UAV and V2X communications;
·RIS hardware & software platforms;
·RIS-enabled smart wireless environments.
