National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), known shortly as the University of Athens and registered as Ethniko kai Kapodistriako Panepistimio Athinon in European Union’s CORDIS, was founded in 1837 and is the oldest and top-ranked University in Greece located in the capital city Athens. NKUA and in particular the Intelligent Wireless Systems and Information Processing Algorithms (NOESYS) research group led by Prof. George C. Alexandropoulos, which is a pioneering group of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of NKUA’s School of Science, is a member of RISTA delivering various contributions to the technology of RISs for wireless communications and applications, as well as wireless localization, sensing, and their integration.
