AI-enabled multi-dimensional feature recognition and dynamic concealment of wireless communication signals

The electromagnetic spectrum, as the core carrier for the transmission of communication signals and the bearer of information, is an important technical field in future electronic warfare applications. The core of it lies in the game between the ability to identify communication signal characteristics and the ability to hide them. This report introduces the development history of electronic warfare, summarizes the technical systems and capability directions from both offensive and defensive perspectives, analyzes the impact of the rapid development of AI technology on the two types of technologies of communication signal characteristic identification and communication signal characteristic hiding in the future, and explores from the theories of typical signal modulation recognition and low-intercept transmission of signal characteristics empowered by AI. Guided by the communication scenario of unmanned aerial vehicles, it proposes new waveform modulation and multi-dimensional feature hiding methods, aiming to provide new ideas and methods for the development of future electronic spectrum control game theory and technology application.

Yang Xin, a professor and doctoral supervisor at Northwestern Polytechnical University, has been recognized as a national-level young talent program. He serves as a council member of the Shaanxi Electronic Society and the director of the Internet of Things Specialized Committee. He has long been engaged in research on high-reliability wireless communication and networking technologies, making breakthroughs in multi-dimensional cognitive anti-jamming, wireless signal feature recognition, and unmanned cluster networking access. He has published over 30 papers and obtained more than 20 patents. He has undertaken over 10 national-level projects. Key technologies have been applied to the communication terminal products of 8 types of unmanned aircraft, and he has won the first prize for technological invention from a national ministry (ranked second). As the first supervisor, he has led his team to win the first prize in the China International College Students' Innovation Competition and the Best Presentation Award in the Graduate Electronic Design Competition.
