Eliminating Blind Spots from Wireless Network by Metasurface: A Blind Approach

Eliminating wireless blind spots via metasurfaces (MTSs) requires jointly optimizing their physical placement and phase shifts. Conventional approaches depend on explicit channel estimation, which introduces prohibitive overhead and limits real-world viability. To address this challenge, we present RFZero, a channel-state-information (CSI)-free deployment framework. By extracting macro-environmental features from visual data, RFZero guides MTS placement without prior channel knowledge, utilizing reference signal received power (RSRP) feedback for dynamic phase adjustment. Furthermore, its base-station-independent operation enables seamless plug-and-play deployment. Comprehensive field tests demonstrate that RFZero successfully eliminates signal blind spots in a 100 m^2 indoor space using merely two 1.5 m* 0.9 m MTS panels.
